Surprise!

Well not really to most since I think the main people who follow my blog also are on my facebook so the cat has already been let out of the bag BUT I got a cake back in November..........
Granted my prego brain was already in effect since I started to do out the word "pregnant" before realizing that A)I did not have enough room  and also B)I did not have all the letters needed LOL. But whatever it tasted great and the hubby had a laugh :)

We also surprised Gabby on Christmas by having her open not only her "first born" ornament but also Lainey's "middle child" ornament and have her connect the dots to what that meant ;)
So yes blog followers we will be having our 3rd baby entering this world in July 2012! I also will continue working on my masters degree throughout the new year and get that much closer to graduation in 2014! 2012 should be a wonderful year for my family and I hope for all of yours as well!

Lainey at 21 months

Ok a a little late but at least I am updating ;) Little Miss Lainey oh how we can tell that 2 is right around the corner!

  • tantrums have begun, you have even had some where you have thrown yourself onto the ground
  • not much talking yet but LOTS of Lainey chatter! Some things you do say includes: "nigh nigh"=night night which you say anytime you are sleepy, "cheeese" not only for the camera but also when you are begging for food as in "please" hahaha, "go" especially to the dog when you don't want him in your face, "gabba" which of course if for when you want Yo Gabba Gabba put on, "bumbum" after she has pooped or peed a lot in her diaper of course it is usually when you have leaked through to your pants already!, "oh dear" when she knocks a toy over, and a few other sayings that come and go.
  • You run, you jump, you dance LOTS! Very active girl!

  • Bruno is your best buddy and you will body roll into him to try and get him to play with you
  • You are still obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba but also Bubble Guppies and the commercial for Just Dance Kids that has cartoon characters on it dancing to a song (no idea what the song is)
  • You love your books and will pretend to read them yet still won't really tolerate us reading them to you as you have to be in charge of turning the pages
  • You will go through a period almost every evening where you just run in circles
  • You have crazy stranger anxiety and so far at both Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings you scream and cry and cling to us like a baby koala! However you are pretty fine if people come to our house
  • You are still excellent about going to bed at 7:30 every night (YAY for Daddy for keeping you on an amazing schedule!)
  • You still take about a 2 hour nap each day and even if you don't fall asleep you are still ok being in your crib for that amount of time
  • You are getting more and more picky with foods and for some reason know what is not healthy for you as you don't even hesitate to shove that in your mouth yet anything remotely healthy you will barely even lick! Thankful for the inventors of the purees in the pouches as you get 2 of those a day so at least we know you are getting fruit and veg in that way.
  • Although picky you still LOVE grapes and apples and peanut butter toast so those are regulars in your diet along with water and milk
  • Wearing all 18 to 24 month clothing with some 2t/24 month stuff tossed in

Grocery Budget FAIL-Early Fall Update

So I forgot all about my grocery shopping budget project already LOL....to say I am flaky at times is an understatement. Let's just say I have a lot going on in my life so I tend to forget about all these little projects I get so excited about at times ha!

Let's see an update: Fall is here in Michigan and it is gorgeous! Trip to a farm/orchard is coming soon already bought our groupon for it ;) I have been busy planting various perennials my family members have so kindly dug up and donated to me! Ask and you shall receive let me tell you! No idea what is going on for Halloween this year, Gabby wants to be an "80's girl, you know like the one that sings "Holiday" in Just Dance" ;) and Lainey will most likely wear a ladybug costume handed down from big sister this year. I plan to go to an adult party with the hubby this year but not sure how much we will dress up....I will do something I just am not sure what and it will prob be last minute decision!

Trying to get back on the weight watchers wagon after seeing the ever so flattering tagged pictures of myself that were recently posted on facebook....work is busy...school is busy....life is busy!

Gabby and Lainey both have nasty colds/upper respiratory junk going on that I pray we do not get from them and that is about it for our household at this time! Will hopefully post something a bit more exciting soon when I manage to be on here on my home computer where I could actually access photos!

And the mini trips begin....

See this is where we really run into trouble...all those last minute needed things you have to go grab (which usually are not on sale or you forget coupons for!) Tonights grabs....

1 block colby cheese
1 small bag shredded (could not be bothered to shred my own tonight)
1 small packet of turkey pepperoni

Total: 10.00

Hoping this is it for this week and we can make it to Friday without any more purchases!

August grocery total

So I don't have exact total since I had just started this goal and obviously I am not 100% of what I bought in each shopping trip as health and beauty and paper products etc...were all included and they will not be included from now on. What I can tell you is we spent well over $500 for the month of August on groceries, beer, pop, dog food, health and beauty products, and paper goods. YOWZA!!! It sure does add up quick and the more aware you are of it the easier it will be to take steps into monitoring the spending a bit better! (at least that is what I am hoping for!)
So here we gooooo for September so far I went to the Farmer's Market where I got:

1 spaghetti squash= $1
1 eggplant= $1
1 lb greenbeans=$1.50
5 peaches=$3

total so far this week $6.50 leaving me with $33.50 for this week

this is a non-shopping week for me and I will shop again on Friday/Saturday so my goal for this 1st September shopping trip is to spend UNDER $100 for 2 weeks of food. I hope to see that total go down over time but I am trying to stay practical here in the begining ;)

Grocery Budgeting 101-The Begining

I have made attempts at the extreme couponing I really have....but I just haven't been able to stay dedicated to it quite enough for it to fully help out our family budget. I am committing as of now to get my family fed on a budget of $40 a week by time I am 35 years old. This gives me 2 years to get us living off $40 a week for our food needs. This is not going to include our take out which we do on Saturday nights. As of lately all we do on Saturdays is one magical $5.55 pizza from Little Casears and then Gabby usually gets Wendys or McDonalds nugget meal since she doesn't do pizza.

What this could mean though is opportunity for nicer take out meals for our family on Saturday nights. What I don't want to do though is fill our cupboards with junk. Although I find there is a time and place for junk (cause admit it some of it is DANG tasty!) I want our family to eat healthier and not pump it up with too much junk.

Now I shared about a month ago my 4 week menu plan and although I still plan on using that as a rough template I also am going to need to learn to shop the sales and then create meals from those items more often.
I will be doing my first shopping trip tomorrow based on this new mission and I will include my Aldis shop from last night too since that counts as part of this new budget experiment.

I shop bi-weekly for the most part for two reasons, 1)I do not enjoy shopping and 2)I get paid bi-weekly so it just works. I will plan on watching ads and grabbing up stuff though that I really want if it is on sale on a non-shopping week.

I will post our total spent out in August as a starting off point so that way we can compare how I do in upcoming months. I am excited for this challenge and for any extra money it may provide my family to spend on more fun things ;)

If anyone wants to join in I would love to see you post about this and share with me hints and tips!

I also want to share a couple links with you all on who inspired me to try this out...first off is Sarah from Sarah's Deals, she is also from West Michigan like me :) YAY! I am also inspired by bulk freezer cooking that is featured on many sites and I particularly like the posts about it on Money Saving Mom. Again if you have any favorite bulk meals you like to pop into the freezer for later please share!

Ok so yesterday at Aldis I purchased the following

1pkg turkey bacon
1 hummus
2 large cans baked beans
bag of onions
orange ice cream bars
lime sherbet
tub of margarine
1 box husbands fave cookies
1 gallon milk
1 pkg gum

TOTAL $21.19

Return of Scrappy Sunday!

I have decided to go back to Scrappy Sunday posts, with me taking some digi scrapping classes and trying some things on my own as well I have no excuse to not create at least ONE layout a week! Of course I hope to achieve more than one a week but we will start with small goals shall we? hehehe....

Anyway some of you have seen these on facebook already but for those who haven't here is what I have made so far!

So there ya have it my return to scrapbooking YAYYYY! I cannot rave enough how much I am loving digital scrapbooking and each time I learn something new makes me love it that much more! I will say it is not as easy and quick as I thought it would be that is for sure! There is a definite learning curve especially if you are new to your design program of choice! I cannot recommend the classes on Jessica Sprague's site enough! They are life savers!

I am learning photoshop elements 6 currently and took her free class and the ACDSee class to learn how to create an organized database of my digi supplies (believe me when I say they can accumulate much faster than "real" supplies since so many great free ones are available!). I am also working on Up and Running at the moment. These are such great classes and well worth the price!!!!

I plan to get my layouts printed onto 8x8 pages through persnickety prints that I have read loads of rave reviews about and also there is the option of just getting printed bound books made. Most likely I will have layouts printed to slip into various 8x8 albums unless it is for a particular project, reason being I am NOT a chronological scrapper I just scrap what I feel like at that particular moment!

17 Months

Oh Lainey Bug aka Buggles aka Buggy aka Bugs......you bring so much stinking joy to all of us! I continue to be amazed at how wonderful Gabby does with you and that she never seems to hold any animosity towards you at all! It is wonderful!

Right now you:

  • have 4 bottom teeth, 4 top teeth, 4 molars and seem to be getting more!
  • Run, jump, dance ALL the time! You are sooo active! You have not mastered climbing onto the couch yet though and I am in no hurry for you to learn that!
  •  can go all the way up the stairs to Gabby's room but have no concept that you could actually fall backwards so you stand and dance on almost each step with mommy nervously right smack behind you!
  • terrorize Bruno daily! Pulling his ears until he squeals at times and constantly play "doggy drum" on him
  • Babbling loads but still no clear words that we have picked up on yet....
  • can repeat some things like "shhhh" and it did sound like you said "chickie" at dinner
  • are getting more and more curls and I just LOVE them, so cute!
  •  freaking love baked beans! You also love yogurts and the Plum baby organic fruit/veg pouches!
  •  love stealing whatever we are having for breakfast in the mornings
  • Although you seem to love books your fave thing to do is stand on them
  • love balls and balloons and drums
  • continue to be obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba
  • are also enjoying Thomas the Tank Engine and other shows with voices "like Daddy" haha
  •  take a 2 hour nap each afternoon and go to bed usually no later than 8:30 at night and we wake you around 7 each morning
  •  love the beach so we are trying to get in a trip each week before fall hits!

4 Week Menu Plan

Yup I finally did it! I came up with a 4 week menu plan and put in some of the common ingredients needed and any prep I may want to do night before for certain recipes as well! I figure we can rotate this and add new recipes to it as I am in the mood to try new stuff but these are some of our faves with a few newer ones tossed in!
This is my first time sharing a google document so I will try my best here.....
Stephanie's 4 week Menu Plan

Do you have regular recipes you rotate? What are your faves?

Bladder Shmadder

So I have been dealing with UTI's...since May. I just finished up 4th round of antibiotics so I just have had SO much energy and felt just great (did you see the sarcasm dripping off those words?).

Finally got referred into a urologist yesterday who did an exam (UGH not pleasant) and it was not looking (feeling?) like cystitis like he originally thought when we were just talking. Also my urine was clear yesterday from infection which was good, the bad is the still ever present pelvic and lower back pain. So next step is I head to the hospital next Wednesday. They are going to knock me out and do several tests. One being the dye test so they can see what is going on and then another where they expand my bladder and see if it bleeds etc...(because they had found traces of blood in my urine past two infections I had). Now if these tests come back normal then it all may just be related to back issues?! Crazy stuff....I am doubting back though because why would that cause 3/4 infections in under 3 months time (the pain yes I could see that but not UTI's).

So that is my excitement!

I have been keeping busy learning some photoshop skills to do digital scrapbooking and am now in the midst of tackling organizing my elements using ACDSee. I am only on my C folders....so yes have a ways to go yet! Trying to tackle at least a folder or more each evening when I get home so hopefully will be done SOON! Then I can move onto more of the actual scrapbooking! I would like to whip through Miss Lainey's first year and then also of course current stuff for the whole fam and then go back and catch up with Miss Gabby since her traditional scrapbooks stopped around age 3 or 4 (she is now 9). I am just loving it though and how I can do it while family is around me and it doesn't make a mess ;)

I also am coming up with a 4 week meal plan. I am tackling this today and then will rotate it! I of course will add new things in from time to time but think 4 weeks is pretty good rotation since many of our faves I know we like to have if not weekly at least bi-weekly. I will share my geeky meal planning spreadsheet when it is complete ;)

Right Now

(stolen from Genevieve cause I am too unoriginal at the moment and I am in desperate need of an update on here)

I am currently....

organizing........digital scrap booking elements
eating...about to have some little casears pepperoni pizza and coors light
enjoying...my successful garage sale trips this morning and that it is Saturday
thinking...about what movie we will watch tonight (thinking Bridesmaids)
dreaming...about having a clean organized house
wishing...that by November 1st I will be able to say our basement is SUPER organized
listening to...Gareth whistling along with Yo Gabba Gabba that Lainey is watching
drinking...diet coke about to be coors light
remembering...how good clothes smell when they are hung out to dry (loving summer)
wanting...Gabby's friend to get picked up so Gareth will leave to go get our pizza
wearing...baggy khakis and an old bright lime green graphic tee both from Old Navy
thankful for...weekend days that seem to go on and on making for a nice long productive weekend!
struggling with...wanting too many rooms organized at once
marveling at...Lainey's shrieking she has discovered
frustrated with...Lainey's shrieking she has discovered haha...especially when right in the ear
knowing...I need to shower today still....
giddy over...new flowers I planted in our "garden"
debating...if I will get my toenails re-painted tonight
deciding...that I might but only if Gabby does them for me!

June Happenings

I know my posts are going to be quite far and few between due to it not only being summer but also because I have officially started my Grad School program for Professional Counseling! So far so good but I am only in the intro to Grad school class at the moment ;)

This month is going to FLY right on by though due to the following things
  • Our friend (Lainey's God Daddy) is here again and will be here until June 14th I believe!
  • Father's Day
  • a friend's baby shower (attempt a homemade gift?)
  • My birthday, friends birthdays, my Gram's birthday, my Dad's birthday
  • Mother-in-law, Aunt-in-law, and cousin-in-law all arriving from England on the 25th (also need to make homemade gifts as we are doing a group family birthday celebration thing)
So yes between school work, attempting some home made gifts, battling the ants that want to live in our house, dealing with a child heading into summer vacation, and a toddler it is a BUSY time for me!!!

I will try to share pics of any homemade gifts though if they do indeed get made! Oh and also I am seriously hooked on Pinterest and also games on FB ;)

Grad School for Me-FINALLY!

Yup for reals this time folks! I have everything submitted and checked out to make sure the school I found is accredited etc....
I start NEXT week! OMG. Benefits though are that it is a 100% online program until I get to my practicum hours (will have to do 600 hours of those and hopefully can do at least one section of them at my current job as that would make it oh so easy breezy!). This means several things
  • No wasting of gas driving around 40 minutes away once or more a week
  • Can do the work on my schedule!
  • Graduation is in Arizona so excuse for a vacation with the husband perhaps in 2014!
  • no driving and sitting late at night in class which also means...maybe baby #3 sooner than we originally were planning......we shall see!
So excited!!!! The school is a private Christian college but still works out cheaper than Phoenix which is great! The main thing is it offers me a degree I need and has all the credibility to make it legit as well! WOOT-WOOT time to get more educated ya'll!

30 Days of Songs Day Thirty YAYYY!

30 Days of Song Challenge Day Twenty Nine

song from my childhood.....this song was the first song I remember commenting on to a peer. It was the first day of 4th grade and I was sat behind a really tall boy I didn't know. I tapped him on the shoulder and proceeded to ask him if he had heard this cool song ;)

30 Days of Song Days Twenty Six and Twenty Seven

woopsie did these out of order but whatever right? Day 26 was supposed to be a song I could play on an instrument and the answer was 0 so no video for that....day 27 was song I wish I could play...not only do I wish I could play this song I also wish I had Fiona Apple's sexy sultry voice!

30 Days of Song Day Twenty Eight

song that makes me feel guilty....not really but wasn't sure what else to pick

Recipe Feedback

So the Crab Rangoon Dip I made just didn't taste enough like crab rangoons for me...in fact it was too crabby and I do NOT do seafood...blech. I did the 1/4 cup green onions it called for and you could not even taste them in there! Also it was a bit lumpy so if you try it make sure to use a food processor to get it a bit smoother. This was what I used..

  • 1 block light cream cheese
  • 6oz of ready cooked crab the louis kemp refridgerated stuff
  • 1/4 cup green onions (chopped)
  • dash of worcestershire
  • dash of soy sauce

It was just blah to me....def needs tweaking!

Another recipe we tried was the Hungry Girl's Cheesy Bacon Pigs in a Blanket from her new 300 under 300 book.

I tweaked a little but kept all the same ingredients.
  • low point hotdogs (I used turkey dogs and next time will use fat free ball park or low fat hebrew national as the turkey had a yuck texture to me)
  • 1 wedge of laughing cow light swiss per dog (not sure I am a fan of this cooked in things, I will leave it for crackers from now on)
  • crescent roll dough
  • turkey bacon (I wrapped 1 slice of precooked around each dog)
  • whatever dipping sauces, I used BBQ and Gareth used ketchup
The way I made these they were 6 WW points+ each. Next time will do prob just the dog and crescent roll for me making it 4 to 5 points+ depending on what dogs we use ;)

Divy up your triangles of dough, wrap bacon around each dog, smoosh LC cheese wedge into each one (maybe 1/2 wedge for each one would be better....) wrap in the dough. Place on cookie sheet and bake until dough is golden brown.

Like I said not a fave recipe but it is always good to try new things :) I think we will attempt the HG chicken pot pie recipe tonight.

Song to listen to while sad...this song I love but it also reminds me of my Grandpa who passed away in early 2010. We went and saw City and Colour in concert shortly after he passed and as soon as he played this song tears just started streaming down my face and I felt my grandfathers presence. My Grandpa absolutely adored playing the harmonica and was such a lively man almost up until the end. :( Rest in Peace Papa! I love and miss you!

Menu Monday

Oh my gosh could it be true? Am I actually planning our menu again?! Yup I am sure gonna try because I have found it keeps the grocery bill down not to mention makes it that much easier knowing what choices I have to make for dinner! So I don't grocery shop until Friday and Saturday this week so this is actually a menu plan for next week. Those that have not seen my past menu plans just a word of warning, we don't do big meals! I am mostly about quick and easy peasy! I like to get home and get dinner done and then be showered before 8pm to chill the rest of the evening :) So here is our exciting menu plan for next 2 weeks :) and in no particular order since I do not like to have things set in stone but more a plan that I then can pick from each night easily.
  •  Starting off with Easter Sunday which will involve a low key buffet of the following since it is just my parents and us this year
ham and turkey on croissants, greek pasta salad, crab rangoon dip, cheesy spinach artichoke dip, pinwheels (u know those tortilla wrapped goodness things!), BBQ chicken drummies, deveiled eggs, and some sort of desserts.

  • Chicken Pot Pockets (Hungry Girl 300 under 300)
  • Cheesy Pigs in Blankets (Hungry Girl 300 under 300)
  • Bacon Wrapped BBQ Chicken (Hungry Girl 300 under 300)
  • Johnsonville Turkey Cheddar Sausages (a new fave in our house since they only have 3 WW points + per sausage!)
  • Funky Chili Mac (Hungry Girl 300 under 300)
  • Southwest BBQ Chicken Quesadilla (Hungry Girl 300 under 300)
  • Pizza Puffs (Hungry Girl 300 under 300)
  • BLT Pizza (Hungry Girl 300 under 300)
  • BBQ Beef Sandwiches (recipe on EmilyBites)
  • Pampered Chef Chicken Broccoli Braid
  • Chili Dogs
  • Steak and veg
  • Hot Wing Pizza (made up recipe based off a fave at local pizza place)
  • Burgers
As you can see I got a new cookbook :) Plan to try out lots out of Hungry Girls new cookbook over next month or so! Stay tuned for reviews on these recipes as I plan to post my faves for you all.

Current Obsessions

So it is one of those boring days (WEEKS!) so I have been doing lots of dream internet shopping....I have found myself drawn to several categories this week (well some of them a lot longer than a week!) So thought I would share for those of you who want to peek into my desires a bit hahaha.....here are some things I have wanted....
Cuckoo Clocks: I have adored cuckoo clocks since I was a child, I actually own one just like this first one! It was my Great Grandpa's and I remember watching him always try to fix the dang thing! I need to put it together well enough to hang up (may be added onto my list of projects for this weekend in fact!)

Next on the list Gnomes....I <3 gnomes of all sorts! I love the statues and I love them on things!

Owls: A long time thing for me since I grew up in love with my mom's macrame owl wall hanging that I purchased a re-make of on ebay years ago!
I MUST have these owl key covers (once they are back in stock over on ModCloth)

Dresses: I LOVE dresses and do not wear them nearly enough! MUST get LOTS of new dresses someday...ya know when I win the lottery that I never play ;)

All these dresses found on ModCloth (my new fave site to dream shop on BTW)

and last thing I will share today that I have been ogling and thinking "hmmm could I make one of those?!" are Waldorf Inspired dolls such as these

I did manage to find some kits and tutorials online but this girl does not sew....I am thinking I may be able to fake it enough to whip one of these up though (although I make no promises on final look of the doll haha).

Sooooo what have you been into ogling online lately?

30 Days of Songs Day Seven

Song that reminds me of an event....so in the 7th and 8th grade I used to stay up on Sunday evenings and watch 120 Minutes on MTV. I was obsessed with all that was "alternative" This video by Sonic Youth captivated me....not only did I want to be the girl in the video finding love in a grungy club but I also wanted to be the chick bass player. I soon became obsessed with Sonic Youth and by 10th grade owned every album and pretty much every single as well as imports (still have them all) I also had about 6 or 7 Sonic Youth t-shirts. The funny thing is I don't really ever listen to them anymore LOL.

2011 Goals=WOOPSIE!

So yeah me like a LOT of other people I am sure kinda forgot about those things called goals, resolutions, etc... So let's re-visit mine and see how I have done....
  • Lose 40 to 50 pounds (seriously this is not about vanity this is about getting to a healthy realistic goal weight I NEED to stay at this time around, last time I was in this weight range was in 2003....)
Ok I am actually doing GOOD at this one so YAYYYYY gold star for me :) currently have lost over 15 pounds since January and I am still attending weekly WW meetings and tracking DAILY (also just got husband to start doing it with me!)
  • Complete 2010 Project Life album (journaling will be the real task so need to keep on top of it for 2011 so I don't have this same dilemma next year!)
I did do this too! So I am doing good right?!
  • Keep up to date on 2011 Project Life album so that I won't be having a repeat performance of this goal in 2012 ;)
Ok I am KINDA doing this.....I have stuff in January and February and a couple pics tossed into March but I NEED to make it a priority to 100% complete the Jan and Feb sections not to mention the March!
  • Organize Basement! This will involve a LOT of purging and a LOT of rubbermaid bin purchasing. I have a very tidy vision in my mind with stacked rubbermaid totes labeled clearly so that I know exactly where things are as well as a food pantry area!
Again I am doing OK in this area....we set up the food storage area with new storage shelves we bought
BUT we are still dealing with this....

sooooo yeah there is THAT.....
  • Scrapbook area organized and also labeled where needed!
again doing OK on this as well...here is what my area looks like if you haven't seen it before

I have been tossing out LOADS of stuff and also boxing up stuff for my daughter to peruse as needed :)
  • Hair chopped (it is past my shoulders now and plan to go back to a below the chin bob) and dyed back to a brownish color that is closest to my new adult real hair color!
nope haven't done this as made it one of my weight loss goals....also I am thinking I want to keep it long for this summer and will just keep it blondish since the sun bleaches it out anyways....
  • Complete first year of Grad school successfully!!! EEEKKKK so nervous yet so excited!
Well I WOULD be working on this if they didn't keep postponing it! So NOT my fault! I am due to (HOPEFULLY) start in August
  • Buy giftcards each shopping trip so that we have them to fall back on next December for Christmas gifts and shopping trips etc... (whatever we may need them for...for some reason this seems it will work better for us then trying to put money into savings, one of those mental games I guess with us hahaha)
Well this started out good (we have 2 purchased LOL)...need to get more of these I know I will be thankful come November if I have these!
  • Paint my nails and not just my toes! Serioulsy even once a month would be nice and it is not like it is THAT hard to do haha
Yup this has not happened not even ONCE.....what's a fun color I should get?
  • Enjoy days at the beach while WEARING a swimsuit this summer with my family!
Cannot wait! I plan to buy a swimsuit in May eeeeek!
  • to do some more scrapbook pages but not set really any deadlines and to not stress about when things need to be done (besides Project Life) but instead to just enjoy the process!

Well I did start a layout this past Sunday hahaha....hope to get many more done this year!

So there it is a check in with just how my goals have been going....how about you?

30 Days of Songs Day Six

Song that reminds me of somewhere....This song was heavily played while I worked at the base swimming pool while living in Okinawa Japan....pretty much all reggae brings me back to that time in my life but this song in particular was featured on a Reggae Gold cd we played often while working

30 days of Song Challenge Day Four

Day 4/30 Song that makes me sad....love it but still makes me sad....
Lyrics
I've been here before a few times
And I'm quite aware we're dying
And your hands they shake with goodbyes
And I'll take you back if you'd have me
So here I am I'm trying
So here I am are you ready

Come on let me hold you touch you feel you
Always
Kiss you taste you all night
Always

And I'll miss your laugh your smile
I'll admit I'm wrong if you'd tell me
I'm so sick of fights I hate them
Lets start this again for real

So here I am I'm trying
So here I am are you ready
So here I am I'm trying
So here I am are you ready

Come on let me hold you touch you feel you
Always
Kiss you taste you all night
Always
Come on let me hold you touch you feel you
Always
Kiss you taste you all night
Always

I've been here before a few times
And I'm quite aware we're dying

Come on let me hold you touch you feel you
Always
Kiss you taste you all night
Always
Come on let me hold you touch you feel you
Always
Kiss you taste you all night
Always
Always
Always

30 Days of Music: Day One

Day One Favorite Song....I think all of us have different songs for different things but when I asked myself just in general what my favorite song was...a song that I ALWAYS sing along to and brings me a happy feeling this is what popped into my head :) (even though the meaning behind the song is kinda sad being about a prostitute and all....hahaha)

Minimalism Envy

So I am a Gemini....this proves true in so many aspects of my life. The latest area is that of my home/cleaning or lack of cleaning really....I have such a desire to PURGE and have a space that resembles this....
but then again I love cozy and eclectic and can totally dig spaces such as this

Oh and speaking of bookshelves....I could do prob a whole blog post on just how much I adore bookshelves especially built in bookshelves like this above (and how clever to have that curtain to pull and hide them away if you choose?)....and also like this....
and this space would make me super happy

and how rad is this shelf?!

So as I was saying the Gemini thing hahaha....although I have a desire for everything to have it's place I also have my side of me that likes STUFF. I need to find the happy medium! I am thinking of this as first action plan....REMOVE all papers and anything not absolutely needed from our main floor of our house to either the basement or the garbage/recycling bin. This will help me feel organized and tidy but then again I will have to just go to the basement to deal with it.....decisions decisions...the buying of rubbermaid bins is much needed to organize the STUFF we already have but we have been better about ridding ourselves of said STUFF.

I am totally thinking out loud in my blog here so don't mind me ;) It is just one of those afternoons where the wheels are turning and I am trying to type to keep up and make sense of it all haha....

As I was searching out the pics above I did find my next MUST DO project...ya ready? Check it....
I want to do these (well not all of them but something like one of them at least!) in both the girls bedrooms and gosh dang it maybe every room in our house LOL!

The last example would prob be the easiest to execute as all it is are spice racks from Ikea! I mean how genius is that?! I could see these being used in my craft area too!!! Oh so many possibilities!

So there ya have it a peek into my mind today that has gone from how I need to get organized to constructing book shelving in my girls bedrooms to shelving in craft area....hey at least shelves have to do with organization right?!
