Pottery Heaven (Etsy) Giveaway & Review

I adore pottery pieces,I think a big part of why I do is that I took a pottery class in Okinawa Japan and realized just how hard of a craft it is! Sure you feel all Demi Moore-esque when you are sat at a wheel with the soft smooth cool clay in your hands...but when a magnificent piece collapses into a puddle of mud you want to cry!

I was lucky enough to be contacted by Martina from Pottery Heaven over on etsy to do a review of her work and shop. Martina sent me two gorgeous ring/jewelry holders (one for review purposes and one for a lucky winner!). I love the classic yet modern look these cute little ring holders have and my husband was happy for me to have a little nook for my earrings I take off each night (he isn't too pleased when I put in their usual place tossed by the sink!).

I asked Martina a few questions so you all could get to know her a bit and here is what she had to say...

How did you get into pottery?
I took pottery as a gen-ed in college. I was horrible on the wheel, but incredibly stubborn. I spent all of my extra time in the studio - took the next class (only 2 were offered) and just kept working at it until I got better.

What is your favorite piece you have ever done?
Hmm that is hard - My favorites change (I usually make a new favorite). Currently, I think the form I have the most fun making are my citrus juicers. I just started making them and was so excited when everything came together - It's great to have an attractive piece, but even better when it serves a purpose and is technically sound.

Do you do custom pieces?
Yes - Anything and everything:) I love doing custom orders. I'm always up for a challenge.

My 1st Giveaway! The Teabagz Lady (etsy) Hair accessories

I am so excited to be bringing you my very first giveaway! I am ever so grateful to Meeling from The TeaBagz Lady on etsy for giving me this wonderful chance to not only shine a little spotlight on her home business but also to give not one but 3 of my followers a chance to win an adorable hair accessory featuring vintage fabrics.

Meeling features a great mix of products all hand made with love inspired by the vintage fabrics she uses on the item.

TeaBagz were born after Meeling found herself drawn to using vintage tea towels to help embellish hand made purses and bags! She has then ventured out and uses the unique fabrics on everything from hair accessories to bags to baby onesies! The onesies really caught my eye being a mom to an infant and Meeling was gracious enough to send me a custom one for my little Lainey!

It came packaged up very nicely!
And look how adorable it is!!!
I was super excited to have Lainey wear it

This onesie was simply adorable! Not only did I “ooh” and “ahh” over it but so did my husband and older daughter! Both exclaimed how cute and unique it was. The owl appliqué was crafted using a vintage handkerchief and was then sewed on. She then added these vintage flower buttons for eyes! I cannot say how sad I will be when my little one (or not so little one hee hee) grows out of this onesie! I will definitely be hanging onto it as a keepsake to pass down.

Lainey really liked it too! ;)

Another onesie that also caught my eye on The TeaBagz Lady was this pear one, sooo cute! Also if you see a  onesie you love or have an idea for one you would like made just send Meeling a message via etsy and she would be more than happy to accomodate you! Designs she can always duplicate but the fabrics may be different due to them being vintage and her not having enough to do more than one or two etc... Prices range 12-15 for a very unique onesie!

Please go check out TeaBagz today for a great one of a kind item for all ages!

Picky Sticky (Etsy) Review

How could you not love seeing growth progression pictures? Whether it be a woman blossoming in pregnancy or the growth of your newborn baby PickySticky has the perfect embellishment to help you document these milestones! Missy sells month by month stickers that you can stick on any shirt or onesie to help document the specific milestone. Yes they are a one time use thing BUT... I have been keeping each sticker to then incorporate into a scrapbook I will do up featuring the pictures taken with Lainey wearing her monthly pickysticky stickers :)
(I cannot wait to see all 12 in a row at the end of Lainey's first year!)

I had to have these for my new little girl and I have to say I get sooo many compliments on them via facebook and family and my various mommy message boards I post pictures on about how cute they are. I couldn't agree more! I only wish I had known about PickySticky sooner so that I could have documented my pregnancy in the same way!

PickySticky offers several different styles that will surely suit your purpose perfectly! Check out PickySticky today!

Phunklab (Etsy) Custom Art Review

Are you looking for the prefect gift? How about a very unique personalized piece of art? Phunklab is the perfect choice! I had a hard time deciding on the perfect wedding gift for my husband and as soon as I saw Fleur's amazing work on etsy I knew THAT was what I HAD to get for my soon to be husband. Not only would it be personalized and unique but it also would serve as a truly amazing piece of art in our bedroom.

Fleur takes a photograph you send her (it can even be made from more than one photo!) and turns them into these wonderful canvas creations! I sent her two different photographs since I liked myself in one and my husband to be better in another.

I also asked if she could please make my hair a bit longer than what it was in the original photograph as I didn't quite like how it was hanging in the photo(thank you photoshop and Fleur). She then merged my soon to be husband and myself into one fantastic piece of art that included songs of meaning to US as the background!
And here was the proof she sent me

Fleur added a unique touch by having a shadowed box around a key lyric "And I will love you til the end of time" that happened to sit right beneath the two of us in the center making it all come together!

The art is printed onto canvas of your size choosing and came shipped to me in America with no harm done! I brought it to my local Hobby Lobby store and had it custom framed with museum glass over top to protect and showcase this treasure.

Fleur was a joy to work with and I never hesitate to share her store with others in person and online!

Thanks Fleur my husband and I have now been married almost 2 years and your gorgous art stares at us in bed every night :)
