Love like Whoa
Random musings of love this morning….love is a weird powerful and I mean freaking POWERFUL force. I know many of you are saying “duh” but it has really been hitting me recently.
Bear and I have had our new parent struggles lately trying to find that groove where we both get our alone time and together time and trying to come to terms with what works and what doesn’t. Yes I have an older child aka the Muffin but she was made with another man and that was a whole different time, place, dynamic etc…feels like a lifetime ago to be honest!
Now this time around I am working full time, Bear is the stay at home parent, there is a whole lot more internet usage, and Bear happens to be a very moody man. A moody man I love and adore!
It is weird how actions and words we once thought would drive us insane or make us fall out of love etc…are now brushed under a rug majority of the time. I am now a peacekeeper even though I may nag on a daily basis.
Cleaning is never done often enough it feels like yet I do not want to put forth the effort in any of my free time to clean either so why do I nag about it?! Where is that cleaning fairy anyway dammit?
There have been too many days lately where I feel like I am the bad guy but then I also get sick of the “I am not good enough” and “I just will do whatever you say” and basically the woe is me talk and tantrums I receive so often.
But you know what? I still look at this man….my Bear (who may act like a 12 year old boy at times) and I feel overwhelming emotion for this man. I love him so deeply and fully I will take his bad moods in stride. I will put the smile back on for him and caress his arm or back as he passes by me in a funk. I will desire him as much as I did when we first started our relationship and get hit all over again thinking WOW love is EFFING Powerful!
And ya know what? Even though he may not clean as much as I would like or exactly how I would like he is an AMAZING Daddy to our girls!!!! And THAT is what truly counts at the end of the day….not if we have a kitchen floor that needs to be mopped.

Menu Monday
I keep meaning to post these weekly and so far I haven't been too good about it...but here we go...in no particular order this week we will be having...
1.Southwest Salads (a corn, blackbean, tomato salad ontop of romaine)
2.Spaghetti Bolognese over whole wheat pasta
3.Spicy Green Bean stiryfry over brown rice
4.Jerk Pork chops
5.5 spice Tenderloin steak with baked potatoes (I hated this recipe! Seasonings were real funky together will not make again!)
6.Inside out eggroll casserole
It is super muggy today and I am wearing a skirt even though my knees have 2 inch long blonde hairs sticking out of them...shhhhh don't tell! Off to the eye doctor as well tonight for first time in 3 or more years! So excited to order some new cute glasses though!

Weekly Menu
Ok we have been doing lots of quick and easy meals due to me having limited time to cook when I have a little zombeebee that wants to be attached to me during dinner time haha! So usually no side dishes (which isn't that rare anyways for us) We need to really up the veggie intake and I personally plan to start doing more salads for lunch so I meet my veggie requirements each day!
Sunday-homemade bbq pulled chicken served on hamburger buns
Monday-burgers made in frying pan and ore ida sweet potato fries (hubby did not like the fries but I did!)
Tuesday-turkey cheddar sausages and cheddar broccoli rice
Wednesday-Soup and grilled cheese sandwiches
Thursday-(I have to bake a cake so will be something quick and easy like hotdogs, burgers,or pizza since that is what we have in freezer)
Friday-(Gabby's slumber party so not sure if we will indulge in Little Casears pizza with them or not...)
Saturday-We have a friends son's birthday party where dinner will be served YAY!

2 Months
Time just keeps going faster and faster it seems....let's see at 2 months old Miss Lainey you enjoy
*eating/nursing
*bath time which we are bumping up to every other night now
*You smile loads especially when Daddy is telling you he loves you
*You are starting to coo even more and have attempted some giggles
*You sleep pretty much every night from 10pm to 5am with the occasional nights where you wake around 3
*You love Daddy bringing you on walks
*You are loving the new sleepywrap Mama got but I better not dare sit down unless you are REALLY asleep
*You are still in bassinet to sleep at night and swing to take naps during the day
*Still 100% fed by Mama's milk
*Wearing mostly 0-3 and 3-6 month stuff now with the occasional newborn item that runs bigger
*wearing your size small cloth diapers now, still on smallest setting but had to bump it up a size on thighs ;) (our faves are the fuzzibunz perfect size pocket dipes and then our ebay sweet doll baby pocket dipes)

Getting this Breastfeeding thing Down
Well I can officially say I have gotten Lainey off the nipple shield! I had taken it off here and there over past few weeks but never really tried to be adamant about it. This Sunday or Monday I just started offering her the boob minus shield and no problemo! I do have to say though that if I had to solely breastfeed all throughout day and night I can see where the pain would come in! Here is our schedule (at least for past week or two).....
5am- nurse then pump opposite side
8:30-pump both sides
12:00-pump both sides
2:30-pump both sides
4:30-home from work nurse
then I pretty much nurse every hour to two hours for 20 to 45 mins until around 10pm on average....she then sleeps straight to 5am with the occasional waking at 3 or 4.
On Saturday and Sundays I try to pump every 2 hours during the day which sneaks me in one extra session usually and we keep her on bottles during my work hours so that she is on constant same schedule. So far so good! Now if she could cut back a tiny bit once I get home from work that would be nice, but I know she is getting in her mommy time and that is why it is so frequent! Hoping the arrival of the sleepy wrap allows me to get a bit more done when I am home from work as will still give her that closeness to me.
Cannot believe she is gonna be 2 months in a couple days!

Nursing Humor
Ok I have a love hate relationship with nursing my little one...the hate is because not only that I have to use a nipple shield (just not convenient like I hoped nursing would be) and also all the pumping I have to do since I sadly work full time.
But then something sweet or funny happens and it just makes me giggle and realize I am doing what is best for us both! She was going to town and things got slippery and wet as they can do while using a nipple shield...I look down to see what all the fuss is about and saw my poor Lainey bear in this predicament hahahaha!
